Stand Up To Cancer Day will be recognized nationwide Sept. 9. Observed the second Friday of each September, Stand Up To Cancer honors those who have been affected by the disease. An annual fundraising event is held and a national TV event also occurs on or around this day every year.

One in two men and one in three women will suffer from cancer in their lifetimes, according to the American Cancer Society. Funds raised by the Stand Up To Cancer events goes toward research. Find out additional information including how to donate at standup2cancer.org.
