Happy Holidays! We recently released the December 2024 newsletter from R. F. Meyer & Associates. If you did not receive it by email, please see the link below to access in PDF form from our website.

Our articles this month present legal news updates on wide-ranging topics. They cover:

  • A federal court ruling in Texas has granted a reprieve to small business owners who previously faced a deadline of Jan. 1 to file new Beneficial Ownership Information Reports, with the threat of heavy penalties for failing to file. Until the court case is settled, the BOIR filings are voluntary.
  • For Medicare patients who enjoyed using “tele-visits” with health professionals during the COVID pandemic, good news is expected. Several bills have been introduced in Congress to make permanent Medicare’s temporary coverage of these online visits.
  • A federal act most seniors have never heard of is up for renewal. The Older Americans Act, by providing billions of dollars in funding for essential services, aimed to help seniors live in their homes and communities for as long as possible. Congress will have to provide funding to continue these efforts.

We hope you enjoy this very newsy December 2024 installment of the R. F. Meyer & Associates newsletter. Moreover, from our families to yours, we wish you the happiest of holiday seasons. Merry Christmas, Hanny Hanukkah, Blessed Kwanza – a joyous season to you, however you may celebrate!

Our law offices will be closed for Christmas and New Year’s from Dec. 23 until Jan. 6, 2025. Please don’t hesitate to contact us outside those days for help with any Elder Law, Estate Planning or Probate Law issue.

Sincerely,

Richard F. Meyer, Esq.
