Today, we released the October 2024 edition of our R. F. Meyer & Associates newsletter. If you did not receive the newsletter by email, please find a link below to access it in PDF form from our website.

Our October 2024 newsletter addresses three aspects of a topic that’s very important to many of our clients: Medicare. The different articles cover:

Medicare Open Enrollment: It’s again time to assess your current Medicare plan, and whether you would benefit from changes. Some significant changes have come along for the Medicare program, with more taking effect soon. Open enrollment begins tomorrow, Oct. 15, and runs through Dec. 7. We break down the recent changes and those on the horizon.

Assessing the presidential candidates: Keeping track and making sense of government policies and presidential candidates’ promises can be daunting during any election year. This year is no exception. This article takes a look at both candidate’s current platforms and past stances on Medicare and Social Security.

Does Medicare cover hearing aids? Hearing loss is common in older adults, but many still don’t wear hearing aids, citing the cost. In addition to helping people to hear better, hearing aids have been demonstrated to have a positive impact on physical and mental health. While original Medicare does not cover most hearing aids, some Part C (Medicare Advantage) plans do. Also, some proposals for expanded Medicare would include hearing and vision coverage. This article takes a good look at the issue.

We hope you find our October 2024 articles informative and interesting.
